
The Karnataka forum of older journalists urged the State Government to alleviate the strict standards for granting monthly pensions and expand the advantage for all journalists who have achieved the age of 60.
At the annual general body meeting held in Bengalur, the forum members unanimously adopted a resolution and said that all journalists who have served at least 20 years in recognized media organizations listed by the Ministry of Information and Public Relations and reached the age of 60 should be considered eligible for monthly pension.
The forum also demanded that accreditation issued by the Ministry be valid for life for those who were accredited for 20 or more years.
