
Max Verstappen made a bold effort on Sunday 18th May to win the Grand Prix Imola. The incredible ride of Verstappen on Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix provided its defense of Formula 1’s title significant support against Oscar Piastri leader.
Verstappen carried out a bold overtaking on McLaren’s Oscar Piastri in the first round of the race – Piastri began from the pole on Sunday. The Dutch driver then built the commanding line that was erased when the safety car lowered the field back up. Yet he held his victory before Lando Norris, who overtaken his teammate from McLaren Piastri to second place and left five laps.

This was the second victory of the Verstappen season – his first from the Japanese Grand Prix from last month. The result was also denied by Piastri – which ended the third – what would be his fourth victory.
Verstappen appreciated the “fantastic execution everywhere” with the Red Bull team when they marked their 400. The race F1 by victory.
“The very beginning was not particularly great, but I was still on the outer line, or basically a normal (racing) line, and I was glad,” Well, I just try to send it out of the outside, “and it worked really well,” Verstappen said about his major overtaking. “Of course it released our pace, because once we were at the forefront, the car was good.”
Norris’s late Piastri race was almost a mirror of Verstappen, although Norris had the advantage of fresher tires.
“In the end, we had a good little battle between Oscar and me, which is always tense, but always good fun,” Norris said, admitting that Verstappen and Red Bull were “too good today.”
Piastriho leadership over Norris in the ranking was reduced to 13 points, with Verstappen now behind Norris.
Hamilton jumps back
The legendary Lewis Hamilton, who fought with his car this season, recovered from 12. On the grid to finish fourth in his first Ferrari race on Italian soil.
Hamilton mined from scrap between his teammate Charles Leclerc and Alex Albon of Williams. When they both fought for the fourth, Hamilton managed to slip around both and ensure an impressive result.
Albon complained that Leclerc pushed him out of the track during the duel, and Ferrari eventually ordered Leclerc to return the fifth place back to Albon.
George Russell finished seventh for Mercedes, before Carlos Sainz Jr. in the second Williams. Isack Hadjar claimed the ninth place for Racing Bulls, while the Red Bull Verstappen Yuki Tsunoda teammate finished tenth – a strong result after the last start due to the qualification accident.
