The US justice Ministry announced the creation of a new “strike power” to explore the claim that former President Barack Obama and his administration organized a “betrayal conspiracy” to undermine Donald Trump after the 2016 elections.
The announcement was made by the US General Pam Bondi, who credited the National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard for the declassification documents, saying that they will reveal the misconduct of the Obama National Security Team.
Bondi promises complete investigation
“The Ministry of Justice is proud to work with my friend Gabbard and are grateful for her partnership in providing the responsibility of the American people,” Bondi said in a statement. “We will fully explore these disturbing publication and leave no stone that would not happen justice.”
Senators demand special advice
Republican senators Lindsey Graham and John Cornyn, both members of the Senate Judicial Committee, issued a joint statement who urged Bondi to further carry out the investigation.
“For the good of the country, we are calling for a general prosecutor Bondi to appoint a special lawyer to explore to what extent the former President Obama, his employees and officials manipulated the US National Security apparatus for political outcomes,” the senators said.
Gabbard claims “years long coup”
At the White House press conference on Wednesday (July 23), Tulsi Gabbard claimed that the Obama administration “invented a long coup” against Donald Trump by producing intelligence after victory in 2016.
According to Gabard, the conspiracy led to the Special Counter with Mueller and a series of FBI investigations based on “false intelligence” to connect Trump’s campaign with Russian interference.
She also recommended to press criminal charges – including Obama himself.
Fuels Reporting
Gabbard quoted a newly declassified report of 2020 by House’s news commission as the establishment of its demands. She argued that the report was contrary to earlier news information assessments that proposed that Russia be aimed at winning Trump’s elections in 2016.
Instead, Gabbard said, “The aim of Russian interference was to undermine the faith in the American election process rather than to help Trump.”
Obama’s office condemns accusations
In a rare step, Barack Obama’s office issued a statement that pushed back to the accusation and described them as “outrageous” and “ridiculous”.
