Former Uttarakhand Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Harish Rawat survived a road accident near Kankaerkheda while traveling from Delhi to Dehradun on Saturday.
According to social media, the incident took place near MIT College on the Meerut-Delhi-Dehradun highway.
Rawat himself later took to social media and said, “I’m fine. The car definitely got damaged.”
In Delhi, Rawat paid his last respects to Uday Soni, husband of senior Congress leader Ambika Soni, who died today.
The former Uttarakhand CM also shared the same from his official Facebook page.
Rawat also announced on X that he would be coming on Facebook Live from his official page to talk to his followers about his conversation with people from Uttarakhand who were selling products from the state and promoting his cuisine in the state capital.
In his X post, Rawat said, “As my age progresses, the scope of my concerns about certain issues deepens. The first concern is to promote the marketing of small and large #products and #cuisine of Uttarakhand and the second concern is to preserve our language dialect, culture and crafts. During my stay in Delhi, I met some of my brothers and sisters who were promoting and selling Products and Uttarakhandi cuisine in Delhi and NCR region. However, the area of culture, crafts, language-dialect is still not encouraging.
“Today, October 18, at 7:45 PM, I will share with you all the details of the conversation that took place between brothers and sisters in Delhi on my #facebooklive,” he said.
On Saturday, Rawat also attacked Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, saying, “Rajnath Singh is the Defense Minister of our country. He knows that successive governments have played a major role in making India this capable. If we are a missile power today, the previous governments have played a major role. They laid all the foundations…We have not received the contribution of Agni and Brahmos within a few years
