Former Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy on Friday (Nov 14, 2025) demanded a Supreme Court-supervised CBI probe into the suspicious death of former TTD Assistant Superintendent and Security Officer (AVSO) Satish Kumar.
Speaking to mediapersons in Tirupati on Friday, Mr. Karunakar Reddy said that Mr. Satish Kumar was relentlessly harassed, threatened and mentally tortured by the investigating agency in the name of investigating the Parakamani theft case, which ultimately drove him to commit suicide.
Mr. Karunakar Reddy said that Satish’s body was found on the railway track just days after the SIT’s interrogation and fresh notices were to appear before it. Mr. Karunakar Reddy said that the government is using the Parakamani case exclusively to settle political scores and the coalition government has turned the sacred TTD into a political battleground. He further alleged that the CID was pressurizing Satish Kumar to release his name and link him to the Parakamani case.
TTD Trust board member G. Bhanuprakash Reddy rejected the allegations and called on the government and the state police to conduct a thorough investigation to unravel the mystery behind Satish Kumar’s death. Suspecting foul play, the BJP leader alleged that it could be a case of murder, as Satish Kumar was about to reveal the names of several influential people behind the settlement in the Parakamani scam.
