
Former Ias Kannan Gopinathan on Monday joined Congress in the presence of the General Secretary of the Congress (Organization) KC Venugopal and the leader of Pawan Kher at the event in the capital.
Gopinathan resigned from the service as a sign of protest against restrictions deposited in Jammu and Kashmir after the cancellation of Article 370 in 2019.

“The abolition of Article 370 may be a government decision. But if you decide to close the whole state, prison, all journalists, deputies and former CMS, they closed transport, communication and the Internet, then it is true? This is a question, but not only for me but for all of us.
Congress Secretary (Organization) KC Venugopal said it was the happiest moment when one of the brave bureaucrats “joined the suffered and marginalized people of the country, and who have always fought for justice, love and affection, Kannan Gopinathan”.
“It determines the clear report that Congress is the only party that fights for justice for this country … resigned from the 2019 civil service, but says its resignation has not been adopted … Bureaucrats who fight for justice and marginalized people said the system was penalized by the system.
Who is the government?
Kannan Gopinathan is a former Indian officer of the administrative service and an activist from Kerala. He resigned from the service as a sign of protest against restrictions stored in Jamm and Kashmir after the cancellation of Article 370 in August 2019.
Gopinathan was born in the Kottayam district in Kerala and had his early education in Palakkad before moving to Kottayam. Gopinathan made engineering in electrical engineering and electronics from Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi. He is married to software engineer Himani Pathak, whom he met during his volunteer days in Noida.

After joining IAS in 2012, Gopinathan came to the center of attention for his somewhat unusual letter to the then President of the State Bank of India, who demanded an ATM in a remote division of Hnahthial in Mizoram.

Gopinathan is known for his role in Mizoram (including the district judge Aizawl), where he initiated tools for disaster management, school revival programs and youth interventions. In 2018, Gopinathan worked in embossed camps in his home state affected by a healing Kerala.

After his resignation, Gopinathan became a loud critic of government policies in Kashmir, human rights, the Citizenship (CAA) Act and other questions. He was one of the leading personalities during the protest against the act. Gopinathan was detained in several places, including bombai, Agra and Prayagraj, and prevents him from participating in protests and lecturers.
The government asked Gopinathan to report again in April 2020, but rejected and declared that he was voluntarily ready for the Covid-19 crisis and would not re-join IAS. Later, companies were registered against him on the basis of various parts of the 2005 catastrophe management Act, the Act on Epidemic Diseases of 1897 and the Indian Criminal Code on the basis of a government complaint concerning its refusal to re -join the obligation. The government also initiated disciplinary proceedings against Gopinathan for violating the rules of services.
