In separate incidents, the former MLA from Bilasp and the leader of the Bhilai congress were arrested for alleged inappropriate remarks about the premiere of Narendra Modim and the Sindoor operation, the police in Chhattisgarh said on Wednesday (June 4, 2025).
In Bilaspur, the former MLA was arrested on Tuesday (June 3, 2025) after the complaint of the Virgin Nagar Ranjeet Kumar Yadav, who claimed that Mr. Tiwari repeatedly raised a derogatory comments on the Prime Minister on the social media. Based on the complaint, the case was registered at the Civil Lines police station according to the relevant parts of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhit and the Information Technology Act.
SR Sahu, Police Station Station House Officer of Civil Lines, said Mr. Tiwari was accused of “deliberate and harmful acts that intend to outrage the religious feelings of any class of citizens by insulting their religion or religious beliefs” except accusations related to obscency. On Wednesday (June 4, 2025) it was made before the local court and advanced to a 14 -day judgment.
Mr. Tiwari represented Sipipa (now renamed Beltar after defining) in the undivided Madhya Pradesh between 1985 and 1990 as the legislature of Congress. Since then, it has been associated with several political parties, including BJP, and has also joined the now defunct India Indira Congress (Tiwari). In the elections to the assembly in Chhattisgarh in 2023, he attacked as an independent candidate from Bilaspur and Beltar, but was unsuccessful in both constituencies.
In a separate case in Bhilai, the leader of the Brijmohan Singh congress was arrested on Wednesday (June 4, 2025) for comments allegedly filed against the Prime Minister in response to a social media contribution related to the Sindoor operation, the police official said. The complaint was filed by the leader of BJP Tushar Dewangan. Mr. Singh was accused of provisions similar to the provisions of the provisions in the case of Mr. Tiwari.
Mr. Singh previously attacked the elections to the 2008 assembly on the congress card, but did not win.
