
Former Kerala High Court Judge A. Lakshmikutty passed away at her residence in Thiruvananthapuram after a brief illness. She was 81.
After a distinguished legal career spanning 17 years as an advocate, she was appointed as a District Judge in 1987 and was posted to Kollam. She later served as District Magistrate in Mavelikkara, Pathanamthitta, Thodupuzha and Alappuzha.
Lakshmikutty was elevated as a Judge of the Kerala High Court in 2000. After her retirement in 2004, she continued her public service in several key roles, including Member of the Kerala State Human Rights Commission and Chairperson of the Kerala State Fishermen’s Relief Commission. She also headed the interim committee appointed by the Indian Red Cross to manage its Kerala state branch.
The funeral rites will be held at her residence in Ambalathara on Wednesday.
