Former Chief Judge India NV Raman described the caste in the census as a decision on the landmark and stated that it would lead a long way to bridge the socio -economic abyss, while awarding the legitimate share in all parts of society in power and prosperity.
“The decision to organize another census, with Caste enumeration to take into account, is a much needed step, even if it is much delayed,” he said in his statement, adding that discrimination based on caste and caste was a hard reality in our society. “We preferred to live for too long,” he added.
Mr. Ramana said, “For a huge and diverse country like India, if we do not accumulate authentic data, it is not possible to display the overall image and formulate a scientific strategy for all round progress of our people and our nation.”
We congratulate the Central Government and also hoped that further census would also take into account every possible social index to make it a comprehensive exercise focused on common good.
