
NALSAR University of Law has appointed former Chief Justice of India Justice BR Gavai as the BR Ambedkar Chair in Constitutional Law and Social Inclusion.
In this capacity, Justice Gavai will direct the Chair’s activities, including research, teaching and academic initiatives in the areas of constitutional law, access to justice and social inclusion.
The University has also appointed Anurag Bhaskar, former Director, Supreme Court Research and Planning Center to assist in the establishment and effective functioning of the Department and Senior Advocate K. Parameshwar as Assistant Professor to contribute to the Department’s academic, research and outreach activities.
The Bureau was established with the financial support of the government. The university said it will soon begin the chair’s activities, including recruiting a dedicated research team, launching thematic research projects, academic programs, policy-oriented studies and public engagement initiatives in line with the chair’s mandate.
