The letter asked the Minister to seize the bungalow from the former CJI without further delay, as he was granted permission to maintain accommodation, which expired on May 31, while the prescribed six -month period of further stay according to the rules of 2022 ended May 10.
Previously, Judge Chandrachud said he was talking to his successor to Sanjiv Khanna and told him he would return to 14, Tughlaq Road bungalow, where he lived before the CJI became.
However, Khanna’s justice asked Judge Chandrachud to continue his stay in the Bungalo CJI because he did not want to move to his official residence.
