A group of 67 retirement employees condemned the recent permission of more than 100 acres of wooded land in Kancha Gachibowli by the government.
In his statement under the label of the group of constitutional behavior, signatories who held key positions in the government of central and state governments accused the government of violating the Supreme Court directives and ignoring environmental concerns.
Kancha Gachibowli would probably be qualified as forest land under the dictionary definitions, and according to official land records that refer to as “wasteland” (usually indicate grassland or peeling forests), the statement said. In a statement that responded to reports in some parts of the media that the government plans to transfer the entire section, including university land, to the ecological park, states: “Eco-park is not a forest.
The statement confirmed the recent withdrawal of the Government from confrontation and attempted to find a resolution. The statement warned against the reported involvement of private players and proposed land auction. “This opportunity for telangana to lead to risks in the administration of public and environmental responsibilities, are wasted,” the statement noted.
The signatories include former home secretary GK Pillai, former ambassador in Japan, Sweden and Portugal, former main secretaries, higher police officials and other officers from all over India.
