The Delhi High Court ordered the National Testing Agency (NTA) to form a Permanent Committee on Compensation, which would deal with questions raised by candidates who suffer a waste of time due to technical problems for which they are not responsible.
The court noted that the constitutional courts in any such case would review the CCTV shots and stressed that such matters should be assessed by a competent ensemble of experts transparently and fairly.
“It can be noted that this court encountered several individual cases where candidates suffered a waste of time for reasons that were not attributed to them …” said the court in its order 28 July.
“The opponents No. 1/NTA is therefore ordered to represent the Permanent Committee for Compensation for this purpose, unless it is already introduced, where the damage candidates can approach their complaints,” the court added.
The direction came when heard of an action related to the Neet-G 2025, in which the candidate sought compensatory signs after alleged loss of time and suffering mental problems due to biometric verification of irregularity in the exam center.

The petition was looking for compensation stamps and maintaining the CCTV shots from the test center concerned. He argued that due to the failure in the biometric verification process before the exam, the petitioner was asked to submit an application for authorization to enter the exam.
According to the plaintiff, the candidate was allowed to enter the test hall only five minutes before the test.
