
The forest department performed a demanding surgery to treat the injured Gaura after a piece of steel wire was wrapped around one back leg.
According to officials, the locals in Melur defeated in Chinna Karumbball in the Coonoor Forest Range, noticed that Gaur was trying to walk and in a visible inconvenience after getting his leg captured in the wire. They informed the forest department, which organized an effort to remove the wire and the animal treatment for its wounds.
Based on the guidelines of the divisional forest officer (Nilgiris), S. Gowtham, a team of forest staff, led by a forest guard and forest veterinarians, the animal with the arrow turned and before removing the wire from the hind legs. Veterinarians were also treated with wounds created by a conductor that got around the legs of the animal.
The department said the animal is on the way to recovery and is currently monitored by a team of employees to ensure full recovery.
