A forensic team on Monday (November 24) inspected the site where a dam across the Manair river collapsed on November 21 at Gumpula village in Peddapalli district as part of an ongoing investigation to ascertain the exact cause.
According to the police, the detectives were accompanied by members of the Tracking Team of the State Police. The team reportedly collected samples from the site for scientific analysis at the Forensic Science Laboratory in Hyderabad.
The incident has raised concerns among local farmers who have expressed doubts about a possible sabotage angle behind the sudden collapse of the dam.
Meanwhile, Karimnagar Collector Pamela Satpathy and Police Commissioner Gaush Alam visited the spot on Monday and took stock of the situation.
