Officials at the university who did not want to be identified have stated that students who follow higher studies must submit evidence such as an admission letter from the university. Students who joined work were asked to submit a copy of their appointment letter.
This is only an indicator of the financial doldrums that the university has been in the last few years.
At the beginning of this year, the financial committee called on the drastic cuts of the university budget under various heads to handle the financial crisis. Grant from the state government also dried up, after the local authority for the Fund audit raised several objections to the audit.
Relief in sight
However, there seems to be some light at the end of the tunnel. Last month, the university received another grant of 17.84 GBP from the state government. It relieved the crisis a little. Part of the fund is now used to purchase stationery and print commands and interim certificates.
