The 29 -year -old man fought for game time at PEP Guardiole last year, starting with only seven Premier League. He was also omitted from the city team for the World Championship in the United States, suggesting his stagnant role in the club. Everton arranged an agreement for Grealish and allegedly earned 300,000 GBP (more than 3.5 GBP) a week, before their Premier League opener against Leeds on August 18. “I’m over the moon to sign Everton – it’s huge for me, honestly. That’s a great club, with big fans,” Grealish said, as AFP quoted. England International took the shirt number 18 in Everton in honor of two of his football idols. “My two favorite English players sometimes are Wayne Rooney and Paul Gascoigne and I know they both wore number 18 here,” he said. “I talked to Wayn before I came here and mentioned it – about number 18 – so I hope he is happy too.”

Grealish joined Manchester City from Aston Villa in 2021 for a British record 100 million GBP. He won three Premier League titles, Champions League and FA Cup, but his form won after the season winner 2022-23. Grealish omitted from England Euro 2024, described the omission as a “broken heart”. During the last season of urban struggles, Guardiola rarely chose him, including leaving him on the bench for the last defeat of the FA Cup in Crystal Palace. “As soon as I talked to the manager, I knew there was only one place I wanted to go,” Grealish said. “On the social media, I was flooded with news from Everton supporters, so there is also the party, and that’s another reason I chose Everton. “I want to thank you for the fans for all the news I already had. Thank you for all love and support. I hope I can repay you now and I’m sure yes.” Everton manager David Moyes welcomed the signature. “We welcome Jack in Everton and we are very pleased to have him on board. I think we get him in a good time because he has experience, understands the Premier League and we are all aware of the levels he is able to play.
