The All India (AIFF) Football Federation has officially confirmed that the Indian Super League (ISL) was suspended for the upcoming 2025–26 season. The announcement came through an official statement published on July 12, where the Federation quoted the ongoing matter at the Supreme Court in India as the main reason for the decision.
In his communication, AIFF stated that the problem concerning the structure of Indian football is currently a supple judge and that no further Isl decisions can be made until the Supreme Court provides its instructions. This confirms weeks of speculating about the league status, which seemed uncertain in the middle of growing friction reports between the AIFF and its commercial partner, Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL).
