More than 510,000 pilgrims who were on Padayatra to the Sri Vaithyanathaswamy Temple in Vaitheeswarenkentovil, received food and medical attention on Monday when they walked through the kumbakons.
Each pilgrim was provided sweet, “Cori”, “Sabzi”, knocked rice and a bottle of water in the Kumbakonam campus in Sastra. Ointment and other medical assistance were also provided to those who need it, because barefoot from karaiku and surrounding areas covered more than 300 km.
Padayatris will offer its prayers Sri Selvamuthumaraswamy and the goddess Thaiyallnayaki ‘Veleth’ sri vaithyanathaswamy in Vaitheeswarankovil on Tuesday and attack on their return journey the next day.
