When Chennai Super Kings prepared for Sunrisers Hyderabad in a decisive clash at the Ma Chidambarama stadium, head coach Stephen Fleming addressed the media with a mixture of realism and optimism about CSk’s stunning season. When Fleming asked about the fight against the middle order of the team, he did not use his answer.
“And the peak,” he joked, acknowledging that problems with CSK launching were going deep.
Chennai Super Kings fought in powerplay overs throughout the season with slow runs and slender partnerships. In addition, they were also under the sum this season.
We need to be more active all the time: Stephen Fleming
With only two wins of eight games, CSK finds at the bottom of the IPL table 2025 points. Their famous bat unit failed to add, at the top and in the middle, which led to repeated collapse and stunning sum.
Despite the unsatisfactory run Fleming explained that CSK has not yet given up hope:
“We still hope to win 6 out of 6, and some are giggling, but RCB has set up a plan for this year before. So even if there is still a chance, we have one eye to make sure we think the best players will play for this game.”

Fleming, which refers to the miraculous turnover of RCB in IPL 2024, stressed that CSK will still push while it will be realistic about its situation.
“We are also aware that if it does not work, we have to make the most of what was the wrong season.”
