
Strong rains in Jharkhand caused floods at a private residential school in the eastern district of Singhbhum and have captured at least 162 students from Saturday night. The incident was reported from a school located on a pandarsoli on the Haldipokhar-Kowali road.
According to the head of the officer, the school building was immersed due to heavy rain, and therefore teachers moved all students to the roof where they spent the night.
“We got information that 162 students from the Lav Kush residential school were imprisoned because the school space was flooded because of heavy rain. When the school building was immersed, the teachers moved all students on the roof where they spent the night,” the clerk said.
On Sunday around 5.30 in the morning, police and firefighter teams were in a hurry and saved the students “one by one with the help of villagers”, said the police (rural) Rishabha Garg.
Garg shared that the ships were used for rescue operation while the NDF was propvyed. However, he said that the police team saved the students from the arrival of the NDF team.
“School to be closed until further alert”
Dhananjay Paswan, responsible for the Kowali police station, said that a single -storey home building was completely immersed due to the rain.
“The school was closed until the next warning,” he said.
Local students were sent to their homes, while the district administration agreed to send other students to their homes throughout the district, including Dumario, Ghatshily, Musabani and Jamshedpur, Paswan added.
