The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) celebrated its 74th foundation day on Sunday (November 1, 2026). Inaugurating the day’s event, Union Labor Minister Mansukh Mandaviya asked EPFO employees to focus on workforce-centric innovation across domains, adapting and building resilience and evolving processes in line with changing times.
Mr. Mandaviya said the trust reposed in the organization was reflected in the corpus of ₹ 32 crore accumulated through contributions from more than eight lakh members, which was made possible by the dedication, hard work and commitment of EPFO workers. He added that social security must be managed with human sensitivity and every concern and grievance of the workers must be addressed with compassion and empathy.
‘Lead by example’
Union Labor Minister Chandra Bhushan Kumar said EPFO has laid the foundations and strengthened India’s social security framework, creating a model worth emulating for generations to come. “Social security and labor reforms must reach not only the organized sector but also the unorganized sector workers at the last mile,” he said, adding that EPFO has set an example of how to achieve this through institutionalized processes. Appreciating the contribution of officers and employees across the country, Central Provident Fund Commissioner Ramesh Krishnamurthi said there is a need to make EPFO more accessible, reliable and humane.
