70 -year -old man in Florida was arrested after alleged urination on canned food items worth £9 Lakh ($ 10,500) at Sam’s Club in Lady Lake, a city near Orlando.
The accused, identified as Patrick Francis Mitchell, was seen as released in the alley of 18 stores, allegedly contaminated 188 bulk units of Viennese sausages and 345 units of spam classics.
According to The New York Post, the witness saw Mitchell Mid-ACT and alerted business employees. After the incident, Mitchell was seen to go to the Snack Section, sat on a piece of terrace furniture for about 10 minutes before he went to the register, paid for his belongings and left the premises.
The trade officials later checked the CCTV shots and joined the Sam’s Club Membership ID with images of supervision and his photo for a driver’s license in Florida. He was then arrested in his residence in Piemont, a pension community known as “Florida’s Friendliest Hometown”, where he lives with his wife.
Detective Marion County Ronnie Williams noted that the incident showed “behavior in accordance with urination”.
Due to body fluid contamination, the affected products had to be discarded.
In the social media, the incident caused outrage. One user wrote: “Copy this miscreant and give him a prison and relieve his pension savings with a stained fine,” while another joked, “Oh, welcome back to Florida. It’s about a week.” The third commented: “When you have to go, you have to go! But honestly, feel for the trade and its losses.”
Mitchell confessed that he was not guilty for a crime of criminal misfortune in the Lake County court. He is represented by a criminal defense lawyer Bobby Rumally and is currently on the bond £2.5 lakh ($ 3,000).
