Flood water has entered many tribal villages along the Godavari River, because the water level reached 47.30 feet on Saturday (August 30, 2025). The trend is growing, says irrigation officials.
According to the offices of the Central Water Commission (CWC), the release from Bhadrachalam was 11.11 Lakh Cusecs and the water level grew in the Polavaram project.
“The level of floods in the Perur, Dummugud and Kaleswarem River Basin is growing slowly. Teams for the management of disasters, Eluru, West Godavari and East Godavari District officials were warned at a growing flood level at Godavari,” CWC officials said.
Officers watched the situation from the State Emergency Operational Center (SEOC) and gave warnings to collectors, SPS, flood officers, NDRF and SDF teams, said the CEO of Andra Pradesh State Dissants Management Authority (APSDMA) Prakhar Jain.
The village located along the Bund River was cut off when Godavari was in a lot. The villagers are asked not to exceed the river and streams in the agency dwellings, the officials say.
“Mandal revenue officers, police, Sachivalayam employees and Kr Puram Itd officers were instructed to accept rescue operations in the villages affected by floods,” said MV Ramana, an officer of the Yangareddygud MV Ramana.
