Parvatipuram-Manyam A. Shyam Prasad on Tuesday ordered officials to assess the damage caused by crops as a result of the floods and submitted a detailed report within one week to take corrective measures as proposed by the government.
He visited the areas affected by the flood-Dugger, Guntabhadra, Panasabhadra and observed the loss of crop and damage to houses and other structures. The locals informed him that the destruction was caused by a heavy influx into local streams such as Adar Gedda, Sakiri Gedda, Dugger Puttur and others.
Mr Shyam Prasad said that the government would take measures to help in areas affected by floods and proposed that they would not travel on the Ghat roads for several days.
The Parvatipuram Subkoper R. Vaisali inspected the situation in Gummidi Gedda Stream in Komarada Mandal. She ordered local income officials to provide shelter and food to those who were affected by heavy rains.
Despite the damage, the officials said the rain would benefit the agricultural sector during the Kharif season.
Mr. Shyam Prasad said that adequate fertilizers and seeds would be supplied across all mandates to satisfy growing demand, especially with adequate precipitation received in Gummiakshmipurama, Kosarrada, Salur, Makkuv and other Mandals.
He visited the fertilizer shops in Makkuva and in other places and checked the position of the shares. He ordered sellers to follow and sell shares according to the rates set by the government.
In the district of SRIKAKULM, the flood situation was checked for clear weather on Tuesday. However, the collector Swapil Dinakar Pundkar ordered the clerks of irrigation and income to stay on the next few days. He also asked them to take corrective measures in the low -laid areas of Vamsadhara, Nagavali, Mahendra Tanaya and other rivers.
Despite Vizianagararam District Life, he was back to normal, without rainfall on Tuesday.
