Giant E-Commerce Giant Flipkart announced on Monday that he had created more than 2.2 lake seasonal jobs to meet the requirements during the Indian festive season. Tasks will be created in various segments, such as the supplier chain, logistics and delivery roles on the last mile.
In addition, Flipkart’s logistics network will also witness 650 new festive delivery nodes in Tier 2 and 3 throughout the country, the PTI reported with quoting the company’s statements.
Inclusive hiring before the festive season
Because of its large shopping festival, billions of days Flipkart is also expanding its infrastructure and technological deployment in 28 countries, except for job opportunities, the company said in a press release.
This will lead to the creation of more than 2.2 lake jobs across the country, along with the expanding reach to the last mile and inclusive hiring via cities 2 and 3, said the company and added: “Flipkart’s ecosystem-first approach is built for scale.”
Creating jobs will also include a 10 % increase in women’s hiring and a specified focus on creating ceremonial jobs for PWD individuals (people with disabilities), Flipkart said.
A wider trend in electronic trading
At the beginning of this month, Amazon India said it created more than 1.5 lake season jobs. These tasks were created in their various segments, such as the operating network of centers, sorting centers and delivery stations to the last mile.
“With the festive season around the corner of Amazon India, it announced that it has created more than 150,000 seasonal jobs across its operating networks. These include direct and indirect job opportunities in the Amazon centers (FCS), Assortments and the last network of Miles throughout India.”
Amazon also mentioned that he created opportunities for thousands of female collaborators and more than 2,000 PWDs in his network. The company has started most of these new collaborators in preparing the upcoming festive season in India.
