New Delhi: The Association of Industry and Institutions (New Delhi) urged the Ministry of Labor to reconsider the recent Directive of the Organization of the Provisional Funds of Employees (EPFO), which orders the AADHAAR facing to generate universal account numbers (UAN).
The industrial body, with more than 7,000 members, wrote the Minister of Labor and Mansukh Mandaviya and urged the government to maintain the application of UMang and the portal of the united employer as parallel opportunities for generating UAN.
The association, which includes private and public sector businesses, MSE and multinational corporations, identified the circle 30 July EPFO as particularly problematic to the industry marked by high wear, limited access to smartphones and low digital literacy.
The mandate, efficient 1 August, requires UAN allocation and activation solely through UMANG.
UMANG or Unified Mobile Application for New Age Management is a government mobile platform that offers citizens trouble -free access to a wide range of central, state and selected services of the private sector through a single user -friendly interface.
The aim of this policy is to streamline workflows and increase identity verification, the association has warned that it can lead to extensive challenges in accordance with compliance. It urged the government to maintain more access points to ensure a smoother transition.
“This is a submission, with deep concern, our representation concerning the recent mandate of the Provisional Fund (EPFO) of the Provisional Fund … requiring allocation and activation of the 12 -digit universal account number (UAN) exclusively through UMANG (fat), ”he said in a letter.
“We fully recognize and appreciate EPFO’s efforts to support digital transformation, efficiency and transparency. However, the current directive has been introduced without sufficient consideration of its practical problems and extended operational consequences, creating significant narrow places to comply with the employers and parties,” she added.
A copy of the letter was reviewed by Mint.
His key recommendations of the Association called for the renewal of the UAN generation through the portal of the unified employer together with the application of Umang and claim that access with the double channel would help prevent an administrative delay and alleviament of compliance with the regulations.
It also suggested that the face verification be placed as an optional self -service function for digitally equipped employees rather than as a mandatory step for all.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Labor did not answer e -mail questions.

To further reduce the transition, the group recommended allowing the mass generation UAN to use the E-E-ECC based on Aadhaar, while the authentication of the face is postponed to a later stage.
Before promoting a new requirement, he also demanded a six -month period within 12 months to allow time for awareness, technical readiness and workforce training.
“We firmly believe that while digital innovation is the future, its introduction must be inclusive, pragmatic and sensitive to the reality of the diverse labor force of India,” the letter said.
“Given the above -mentioned reasons and hardships and, in order to ensure a smooth transition to minimize the disruption of employers and employees with respect, we ask your honor to issue appropriate instructions to withdraw or postpone the circle,” he added.
