Fabbco Biocycle Private Limited, connected by Kochi Corporation for composting food waste using BSF in Brahmapuram, is ready to supply its first shipments of 72 tonnes of Biomanur to Dubai next week. A Sustainable Vertical Agriculture Society in Dubai has been interested in further exports.
Minister for Local Self-Government MB Rajesh made a notice after visiting the company’s stand on the ongoing VRUNTHI 2025-CISTER CONCLAVS CERALE in Thiruvananthapurama.
“The company based in Dubai favored FRASS insects, which is insect excrement, rather than mere compost. Although the insect composting system, which in Brahmapuram ensures that the fastest composting within Indica was in Dubai society.”
Knowing his requirements, Fabbco turned to the company based in Dubai, which sent a representative to visit the unit in Brahmapurama. The sample sent by FabbCO also met the standards of the quality of set companies, which led to the placement of the order.
The company is to launch a BSF unit with a capacity for 300 tonnes of food waste for Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), an administrative authority responsible for civic equipment and some infrastructure assets of larger Bengaluru Metropolitan in May. Fabbco operates a single unit of 50 tons in Brahmapuram and generates 10 tons of biomanura daily.
The company monitors a 16 -layer stacking system using trays in Brahmapuram, which facilitates the processing of 425 kg of food waste per six square feet, which ensures maximum productivity in minimum space. While Fabbco keeps black flies in an area of 20,000 square feet in Brahmapuram, he was assigned one lakh SQ.FT.
Mayor M. Anilkumar said Kochi Corporation created a waste processing model by accepting the BSF model in the face of hard challenges with a small precedent elsewhere. He also said that the role of former secretary of Babu Abdul Khadeer corporation should not be overlooked in the project.
