Fix KPSC before protesting NEET, says BJP to Karnataka Congress

The opposition BJP in Karnataka has questioned the Congress’s moral right to participate in the protest against the NEET question paper leak in Delhi, while the Delhi government has failed to pin down responsibility for the death of 11 youths in a stampede near the M Chinnaswamy Stadium and for the lathi charge of unemployed youths in the North Karnataka government protesting the delay in recruitment.

In separate media interactions, BJP State President BY Vijayendra and Leader of Opposition R. Ashok launched a counter-attack in the Congress for attacking the Prime Minister over issues related to the youth of the country and argued that the Congress government in Karnataka should first put the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) in order.

Mr. Vijayendra alleged that opposition parties in the country were using the NEET examination issue as a pretext “to create unrest and anarchy”.

He claimed that although the Union government immediately responded to the irregularities in the investigation by conducting a re-examination and ensuring transparency through reforms, the Congress and its allies were trying to “move political mileage” out of the matter.

Taking particular aim at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, he said, “Mr. Gandhi was abroad for 15 to 20 days without showing any concern about the NEET issue. But soon after his return to India, he staged a protest only as a publicity stunt.”

He said that the Union Government has made it clear that it is willing to hold a comprehensive discussion on the issue for as many hours as required in both the Houses of Parliament.

However, instead of participating in the debate, the opposition chose to create riots in the streets, he claimed. Mr. Ashok accused Mr. Rahul Gandhi of “running away from the Lok Sabha” instead of speaking at NEET. “He absconded and entered into a match-fixing deal with the Cockroach Janta Party. CJP members are not coming to the meeting and Mr. Gandhi is not attending the meeting,” he claimed.
