On Saturday in Tirupatura in Tirupouttuu, the Police of Kurusilapatu booked five people for the operation of an illegal test unit to determine the mobile sex in the district.
The police said the suspects were identified as G. Sugumar (67), V. Manicandan (45), S. Kavitha (40), R. Ilavar (35) and C. Kanaga (53). Kanaga is a nurse from Salem and the remaining gang members who belong to the Tirupattur district have worked as agents in performing a test of mobile sex and abortion unit.
The initial investigation revealed that in addition to Agent Kavitha, who was arrested, other gang members still reef. All of them were booked according to the 1971 Medical Termination Act (MTP) of the 1971 Police of Tirupattu.
Tirupattur Superintendent of Police V. Shyamal Devi created special teams to charge the suspects. The investigation found that two expectant mothers who were 31 and 23 years old went to Salem, where the sister of Kanaga carried out an illegal sex determination and found that both were girls.
Since women already have two children, they reportedly sought the help of Kanaga for abortion. Subsequently, the gang took them to Kavitho’s house in tirupatura. Based on the warning, the police made a surprise in the house, where both pregnant women saved and arrested Kavitha. The other four fled from the place. Women were admitted to the Taluk Government Hospital in Tirupattur. The probe is running.
