Five newly created corporations for civic Bengalur officially began to operate on Wednesday, with all the commissioners took the lead. The government organized a corporation to pay 300 crore and approved a long -waiting proposal for recruitment of 500 engineers.
Deputy Minister and Minister of Development Bengaluru DK Shivakumar launched the headquarters of the larger office of Bengalur (GBA), formerly Bruhat Bengalur Mahanagar Palike (BBMP), which formally launched GBA.
Mr. Shivakumar, when he spoke in the inauguration, said that all commissioners officially took over the accusations and were informed of the way forward. “We will distribute 300 GBP crore to five corporations for administrative purposes, such as salaries and office establishment. Once the income generation begins, further planning will be followed,” DCM said.
A well -placed GBA source confirmed that the government asked them to plan the recruitment process of 500 junior engineers. There are currently about 300 engineers.
Mr. Shivakumar also said that each corporation will have two IAS officers, one KAS officer and two main engineers, while each department is expected to be assigned an engineer to improve the city’s maintenance.
“Bengalur will not happen overnight, but it will happen gradually. Commissioners and their teams have to put 16-17 hours of work every day,” he said, adding that all commissioners were asked to be on the ground and actively work. “They will be supported by young officers,” he said.
Meanwhile, all BBMP bank accounts have stopped operating. Each corporation will soon have its own accounts, while one account has already been created in the name of GBA, although it is not yet functional. As a result, progress of ongoing projects can temporarily slow down.
According to the main commissioner of GBA M. Maleshwar Raoa, each corporation will start to replace name plates and markings currently bearing the name BBMP. Once the boundaries of the department are completed, details of the department will also be added to the reserved boards.
He explained the role of GBA and Mr. Rao explained that the Office would primarily focus on disciplinary functions, planning, increasing economic growth of corporations and implementation of mega projects.
He added that the current priority is the process of definition, which is expected to start on Thursday. At the same time, preparation for election elections will start.
When Mr. Shivakumar asked about the expansion of the GBA jurisdiction to include multiple areas, he said that the plans to expand will be launched after the company’s elections. “For now, it will focus on the definition and organization of the elections,” he said. “If we take it now, we will face court dispute and legal obstacles, which would be a burden at this stage. We will consider it after the elections,” he said, indicating a possible increase in GBA members to 80.
Currently created corporations cover an area of 720.9 km. Km, former BBMP area.
Shivakumar replied to the opposition criticism of the name GBA, which was not named in Cannada, and called on citizens to propose an alternative name. He added that Mumbai also had similar concerns and stressed that the mother tongue would never be neglected.
