
The forest department suspended five officers on Saturday, including the forest officer section, in connection with the incident in the Konni Elephant camp, where a four -year -old boy lost his life after the concrete pole fell.
“One section of a forest officer and four losers of forest officers were after a preliminary investigation that pointed to negligence,” the head of the official said. The event was admitted to the Directive of the Minister of Forest Ak Sasendran.
According to official sources, the divisional forest officer Konni and forest officer will probably also be transferred due to the camp.
The preliminary investigation report revealed serious outages, including the failure of the removal of concrete poles that were not allowed and the absence of any structure testing ,.
Meanwhile, the main forest conservator (Southern Circle) is expected to submit a detailed report on the Minister’s incident by Monday.
The victim of Abhiram, the resident of Kadampanad, near Adoor, visited the camp with her family on Friday when the accident occurred. The news suggests that the child played near the concrete pole with a high foot when suddenly collapsed and hit it. Abhiram was immediately transported to a nearby hospital and later transferred to another facility in Pathanamthita. Later, however, his injury succumbed.
