Since April 7, Manipur has witnessed five killings, including two of children, but no arrests have been made in any of the cases yet. The Bishnupur-Churachandpur road has remained blocked for the past 12 days, hampering the National Investigation Agency (NIA) probe into the killing of two children on April 7 at Tronglaobi in Bishnupur, a senior government official said.
As the attackers remain unknown, local residents have taken to the streets several times over the past week and clashed with security forces demanding the arrest of the attackers, leaving dozens injured.
