
With immediate effect, the state government has conferred cabinet rank on the chairmen of various boards, corporations and authorities to remain in force until further orders.
Fifty-four chairmen across the state have been accorded the status of Ministers of State, which entitles them to perks and privileges applicable to rank-and-file cabinet officials. Of these, five chairmen from Kalaburagi district have been elevated to cabinet rank.
Those from Kalaburagi district include Syed Mohammed Ali Al Hussaini, Chairman, Karnataka State Wakf Board; Neelakantharao Mulge, Chairman, Karnataka State Spices Development Corporation; Arun Kumar Patil, Chairman, Kalyana Karnataka Road Transport Corporation; Syed Mohammed Chishti, Chairman, Pulses Development Board; and Devendrappa Martur, Chairman, Sheep and Wool Development Corporation.
The order was issued by NR Bandarangayya, Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Personnel and Administrative Reforms, directing that all cabinet-rank ministry-authorized facilities be extended to chairpersons with immediate effect.
