Five people who were arrested in connection with the death of the Zateen Garg singer in Singapore last month were sent to judicial custody on Wednesday (October 15, 2025).
The main organizer of the North East East India (Neif), Shyamcan Mahanta, Zateen manager Siddhartha Sharma, his cousin and police officer Sandipan Garg and his personal security officers (PSOS) Nandeswar Bora and Prabin Baishya were strengthened to Judicial Magistrate.
The court, who expressed concern about their security, also decided to be sent to prison, where there were fewer prisoners.
“In accordance with this, the authorities decided to move all five accused to Baks’ prison in Mussalpur, which was launched two months ago, and there are still no prisoners,” the official said.
Mahanta and Sharma were arrested 1 October 2025 in Delhi in connection with the Singer in Singapore last month and were booked under various parts of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhit (BNS) for a closing murder that did not decide for murder, conspiracy, murder later. The duo received a 14 -day police link that ended on Tuesday (October 14, 2025).
Zateen Garg’s cousin and Assam Police DSP Sandipan Garg was arrested on October 8 and succeeded for seven days of police ties. Sandipan was suspended in the district of Kamrup in the district of Kamrup on the day of his arrest as authorized by the head of the police director Boko-Chaygaon in the district of Kamrup and was suspended from the office.
The police officer accompanied the singer to Singapore and was present on the yacht during the last Zateen’s last moments. Two singer PSO was arrested on October 10 and were transferred to a five -day police custody.

Two other-member bands Zateen Shekhar Jyoti Goswami and singer Amritra Mahanta-Byli arrested 3 October and ceded to 14-day police ties.
CID also launched a separate probe against Mahanta for alleged organized financial crimes and “received a huge amount of” Benami “real estate washing money”.

More than 60 companies against Mahanta, Sharm and several others were filed throughout the state, after which the main minister ordered DGP to transfer all FIRS to CID and register a consolidated case for a thorough investigation.
