Climate change and other factors have adversely affected the fishing industry in Kozhikode, reducing catches and increasing fish prices.
At Matsyafed outlets, cut and cleaned oracle fish sold at ₹1,500, kingfish at ₹900, white pomfret at ₹1,000, tuna at ₹440, prawns (various species) between ₹500 and ₹640 and ₹320 sardine at ₹28 reflecting a tightening bid.
