Shan has reportedly expressed interest in the role, which is described as a “multi-dimensional leadership position”, focusing on team management and oversight of Pakistan’s international cricket operations.Masood, 36, has represented Pakistan in 44 Tests, nine ODIs and 19 T20Is, scoring 3,108 international runs, including six Test hundreds. He has captained Pakistan in 14 Tests, including the recent two-match WTC series against South Africa. Under his leadership, Pakistan also beat England 2-1 last year, marking their first Test series win against England at home since 2005.Former captain and head coach Misbah-ul-Haq was considered for the administrative post but reportedly declined due to existing commitments. The announcement comes amid wider controversy surrounding PCBs. Multan Sultans owner Ali Khan Tareen recently responded defiantly to a legal notice by the board accusing him of violating clauses in the 10-year franchise contract. The notice threatened to terminate his contract and ban him for life from owning cricket teams unless Tareen publicly apologized for his criticism of the PSL management.“For the PCB management to treat constructive criticism as a crime is outrageous. It shows the pettiness of the current management and clearly shows that the PSL is not open to questions or accountability,” the franchise said.
