Forest officials on Sunday in Salavenpet in Salavenpet destroyed a fire that destroyed hectares of dry grass.
Officials stated that a steady increase in daily temperature could cause fire in steep and inaccessible terrain. Around 4 o’clock in the morning the inhabitants noticed a strong smoke, which radiates and informed the authorities at the top of the hill. Before the forest officials managed to achieve a place, a large tract of dried grass on the hill was destroyed. RF falls under the Vellore Forest line.
In the vellore area, the daily temperature exceeded 40 degrees. “In most cases, these smaller forest fires are mixed during cold night temperatures. However, we have looked at the place to prevent further damage to the forest area,” the official said.
After a few hours they learned the fire and checked if a wild species was destroyed. A special team for regular patrols was created after the incident, the officials said.
