
The coastal police and the naval coercive group continue to increase the vigiles and guard the coast of Malabar because operations for searching and recovering for dangerous containers that fell into the sea from the MV Wan Hai 503-Singapore Flagged vessels that have been completed on June 9.
The district collector Snehil Kumar Singh, who also serves as the chairman of the district disaster administration, called on the coast residents to remain on the emergency containers, and immediately report any suspicious debris or objects by dialing the line to 112.
Members of the Coast Police and the Maritime Regulation Team said that the increased patrols would continue until the ongoing rescue operations for the freight ship were completed. They added that the fishing department has already ensured the cooperation of fishermen and allied workers in coastal areas to support the tracking efforts.
The Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute and the Council for Control of Kerala pollution have recently collected maritime water samples from different coastal sites for further analysis. The sources of the fishing department said the results will soon be provided with a clear impact of the accident on the sea sources.
