The TELANGANA fire department, the reaction to disasters, emergency and civil defense have carried out extensive rescue operations in several districts and saved 1646 people stuck due to floods.
Nine people in the water tanker and a light motor vehicle in Annasagar village, which were rescued by the SDRF from Nizamabad, imprisoned nine people in the Kamedddy Standing Waters. In the village of Gunkul, five inhabitants stuck in a flooded house saved the crew of the Banswada fire station. In Gr Colony, where Pedda Cheruvu violated his banks, 250 inhabitants were saved, along with 300 students from the SC Boys residential school and 70 Colon. Another 55 inhabitants of the village of Sirpur and six from the village of Chinnamallareddy were saved. Other operations included saving three poultry workers in the village of Thimmareddy, six farmers in Ugravai and two inhabitants stuck in Gandhari.
Gr Colony, Colony Housing Board and other areas in Kameddy visited the CEO of Y. Nagi Reddy. All rescue operations were completed on Thursday noon.
In Medak’s Ramayamplet, Floodwater entered the hostel SC Women College Hostel, where 360 students were brought, followed by 84 students from the hostel of SC&D and 10 BC Colon. In Havel Ghanpur, a pregnant woman was rescued for the road breaking and moved to the hospital, while after imprisonment on the flooded bridge, 11 more were to safety.
In the Rajanna Sicicilla district, one person was saved to Mallareddypet, while five stuck near Narmal Vaguu were transported by air helicopters.
Several operations were performed in the Nizamabad district. In the village of Wadi, after breaking Muthaya Cheruvu, 380 people were saved. Eight persons stuck in the car near Indalwai Toll Plaza, six in the car in Bheemgal and 10 inhabitants of the village of Condur were also rescued. In Kandakhurty, eight people in Ashram were rescued from the rising waters of the river Manera.
In the district of Adilabad, a few stuck through the flooded stream in the village of Yenka in Utnor Mandal were saved. In the Nirmal district, one person was rescued after being stuck across the Godavari channel in Lakshmanchand Mandal.
In Jagtial District, two people were rescued after the three men tractor fell into the SRSP channel in Korutle.
The data is until Thursday, August 28 at 22:00 and cover the period from Wednesday (27 August).
Rescue teams used ropes, ships, life jackets, buoys and even military helicopters in some operations. Officials said that the coordinated reaction across the districts ensured that all 1646 persons were brought within two days of operation.
The fire brigade said it has deployed maximum available resources to protect lives and property. “The fire -fighting staff worked continuously, with one main operation on Wednesday until 23:30 on Wednesday in Gr Colony, Kameddy, where the floods were extreme. Some vehicles and equipment suffered partial damage during operations, while life buoy, life jackets and other equipment were lost,” said fire brigade officer. Two firefighters with a light rescue vehicle were sang with flood waters in Kameddy, but survived thanks to their training.
