On Tuesday (May 13, 2025), a massive fire broke out in the Kerala State Beverages Corporation (Bevco) in Pulikeezh on Tuesday (May 13, 2025) and destroyed the liqueur of rupees.
The officials said the fire that broke out around 20:15 gathered a significant part of the warehouse.
Seven firefighting engines were deployed to control fire. Despite the tireless efforts of more than an hour, the fire could not be under control and a large part of the equipment was limited to ashes.
The fire caused small explosions by burning bottles with alcohol. Nearby is a distillery producing Jawan spirits.
The exact cause of the fire remains unknown. “The investigation of this matter will follow as soon as the fire is fully extinguished,” the clerk said. The authorities are expected to assess the scope of damage and start a detailed investigation of the incident.
