The Amruthahalli police on Saturday (January 3, 2026) registered an FIR in connection with posters claiming the missing of Karnataka Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda, which were put up in public areas in the city.
The complaint was filed by the Assistant Engineer of Battarayanapura Sub-Division, alleging that unidentified persons pasted posters on road transformers, vandalizing public property and damaging the aesthetics of the city.
According to the complaint, the act is also a violation of high court orders prohibiting defacement of public property. Posters were allegedly put up and videos of the act were recorded and circulated on social media, which went viral.
The police took cognizance of the complaint and registered an FIR against those responsible for pasting the posters and sought appropriate legal action against those involved. “Further investigations are underway to identify and trace those behind the posters and the viral video,” police said.
