According to Finnish President Alexander Stubbo, he reportedly loses the patience of US President Donald Trump. After meeting Trump in his resort Mar-A-Lago in Florida, Stubb said that Trump’s frustration with Russian deeds is obvious.
“I think we are probably moving in the direction where Americans see Russia worth what is worth,” Stubb said. He explained that while the US, Ukraine and Europe have achieved a ceasefire agreement, Russia failed to observe and violated the agreed half fire.
“Half fire has been broken by Russia, and I think America and my meaning are also the president of the United States, patience with Russia,” he added, according to The Guardian report.
Impending actions: “things will be clear on the days”
Stubb indicated that a brighter sign would soon appear. “When you spend seven hours with someone, you get at least the intuition of the direction we’re going to,” Stubb said. He said that in the coming days it would probably be clearer how the US intends to proceed with Russia.
Setting the term for a ceasefire
During their discussions, Stubb also recommended Trump to determine the term for the ceasefire of Ukraine, indicating 20 April as a suitable date for a complete ceasefire without conditions. “April 20 would be a good time for a complete ceasefire without any conditions … because the deadline is needed,” he said.
Trump’s position to end the war
Since joining in January, US President Trump has focused on ending the war in Ukraine. Last week, the United States mediated independent agreements with Ukraine and Russia aimed at suspending military actions in the Black Sea and against energy goals.
Trump also threatened to store secondary tariffs on Russian oil, ranging from 25% to 50% if Moscow continues to block efforts to end the conflict.
