Chopra broke the long -awaited 90m barrier in Doha 16. “I feel I am really fast in the start, but I do not think I am using speed right now (to send a spear further). In Doha, the throwing 90 meters was really good, but I do not want to say it was perfect,” Chopra told Zurich reporters before Diamond League. He also explains that the double Olympic medalist said, “If my left leg is straight and if I use a perfect block, it will be a really good throw and then I will be satisfied with my speed.” Chopra, who won the title Diamond League in 2022, but ended in the last two editions, is offered to get a crown. His rivals in Zurich include defending Anderson Peters from Grenada and German Julian Weber, along with Julia YEGO, Keshorn Walcott, Andrian Mardare and Simon Wieland, Switzerland. A 27 -year -old man attributed his coach Jan Relleny, a world record holder, for shaping his technical progress. “I learned from him (Zelechna) to stay under pressure and still be consistent. He threw 90 m plus more than 50 times. He was really on a different level,” Chopra said, as PTI quoted. “I always said, I read somewhere, the technique is my (Zelezny) the biggest weapon. I am not technically at its level. So I try to improve my technique. But more than an athlete or coach, he’s a really good person and always helps me.” Chopra was also thinking about the conditions and external factors, including wind and weather. “It depends on the thrower who knows how to use the wind. If the tail is a wind, it’s good. If you really throw a good line, a little up a little, it really helps,” he said. “Tomorrow it doesn’t have to be good weather, it can rain. But it’s for everyone and we have to stay mentally hard.”

NC Classic in Bengaluru 5 July, which Chopra hosted and won, reaffirmed the growing popularity of sport in India. “I was really happy to do the event in India and 15,000 people were just for a spear. A lot of children are throwing now, so it’s good,” he said.
