FIFA uses rare rule to suspend Balogun’s ban ahead of USA’s last 16 clash against Belgium
American forward Folarin Balogun will be available for Monday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup Round of 16 match against Belgium at the Seattle Stadium after FIFA’s disciplinary committee cleared his condition. The 25-year-old New York-born forward, who has already scored three goals in the tournament, remains a key figure for the Stars & Stripes heading into the knockout stages.
“In accordance with Article 27 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code, the match suspension is suspended for a probationary period of one year,” FIFA said in a statement.
