A joint statement of ten central trade unions (CTU) and Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) on Monday (August 4, 2025) required a parliamentary review of a comprehensive economic trade agreement (CETA) recently signed with the associated kingdom. The organizations asked the Union’s government to refuse the “tariffs” of the United States President Donald Trump and promote the Indian sovereign right to trading in all nations, including Russia.
The statement states that India-UK CETA must be reviewed and changed immediately, without ratification in parliament. “All negotiations on business agreement in India, India, must be stopped to avoid further exploitation of companies. No other secret trade agreements-all of the future agreement must undergo complete parliamentary inspection and public consultations,” he added.
The organization said that East India colonized India through trade and today CETA and the US are new tools of corporate imperialism. “August 13, farmers and workers will increase in the defense of sovereignty and freedom and send a clear message: we will not let history repeat! End India,” he added.
Economic forced us
Trade unions and farmer clothing that described US import tariffs in India as an obvious act of economic coercion, said that new duties are focused on dictation of India, including its business relations with Russia. “These aggressive measures reveal the hypocrisy of American trade policies that require open markets for US corporations, while weapons were bullying sovereign nations,” he said.
SKM and CTU, who claimed that the center had gave up these threats, said it was further evident in the recently signed CETA, which is an agreement that sacrifices the interests of Indian farmers, workers and economic independence from the altar of foreign enterprises.
