Forum for good management of public affairs (FGG) urged the main Minister A. Revant Reddy to order vigilance and enforcement (in) investigations of alleged abuse of special development funds (SDF) issued for acceptance of development work in election districts.
FGG President M. Padmanabha Reddy said that the government in 2023-24 for each constituency for each constituency for each constituency sanctioned 1 190 Crore for 10 crore.
The amount was released by district collectors for the purpose of developmental work with the consent of the District Minister. SDF funds were to be spent on educational infrastructure (CRP 2 GBP), drinking water (CRP 1), maintenance of collectors or government offices (50 lakh) and 6.5 crore balance for other development work.
However, the fund was not carried out according to the instructions leading to the abuse and waste of taxpayers’ money. He stated that the Devarakond Mil, who quoted examples in a letter addressed to the main minister, proposed an amount of 1.14 GBP for his residence in the office, when there was no provision on the reconstruction of the MLA residence. “It is not clear how the Minister of Charging the district approved such a work. There are also many similar cases in other districts,” Padmanabha Reddy said.
He said that offers should be required for more than 5 lakh parts in accordance with the rules, but the performance of agencies divided the works into pieces of 5 ₹ Lakh and assigned them to the nomination.
The constituency of the Congress proposed works by circumventing the MLA and the Minister of the district sanctioned them. For example, the sitting MLA was ignored in the election district of the Karimnagar Assembly and the proposals were received from the Congress, which were subsequently approved.
There were many villages in the Karimnagar election district where infrastructure for schools and drainage facilities were required, but the sanctions were made for 50 high masts in villages at the price of 60 lakhs and an open gym in 25 villages for 1.25 GBP. “No offers were invited and the works were assigned to the nomination,” he lamented.
With regard to this, the government wanted the government to order and authorize collectors to approve works.
