In an interview with the media posture, Hamilton admitted that Ferrari was not suitable for Silverstone conditions.
“This car doesn’t like these conditions … He doesn’t like low -speed corners. He was intact there and started locking the left front. I just couldn’t keep up,” Hamilton said after the race.
He added that the race was one of his harder, and although he wasn’t his best, he was glad to take some points home. Hamilton also acknowledged that he and the team made mistakes during the race.
“Difficult race. Not big on my part. I did the best I could … not ideal, but at least we got some points … There were a lot of mistakes. The conditions were difficult and the car was very, very difficult to drive,” he added.
Ferrari’s Pit Strategy also came under control because it influenced both drivers. Charles Leclerc, who founded P6, finished 14th, while Hamilton, who had a strong shot on stage, had to settle for 4. Before the race, Ferrari could fight if the rain arrived and played clearly on Sunday. Hamilton was even visible as he went from the track while trying to close the gap of Hulkenberg and emphasized the problems with the balance of the car.
With Silverstone behind him, Hamilton and Ferrari will try to reset and improve before the next Belgian Grand Prix race, starting on July 25.
