The police team investigating the death of a lawyer of a woman and her two young daughters took his husband and father -in -law into custody on Wednesday.
Officials confirmed that the female husband, identified as Jimmy, and his father Joseph, were convened at the Ettumanur police station and later put into custody. After a detailed interrogation, a decision on their formal arrest will be made.
The sources said the duo was convened after exploring the Jissmola mobile phone, that the woman was subjected to her husband’s residence to home harassment. The Jissmol family had previously filed a complaint about Jimmy’s harassment and his family members.
Police claim that Jissmol Thomas took his own life by jumping into the Meenachil River, along with his two daughters-four-year-old Non-Maria and the one-year Nora Jiss Jimmy.
Jissmol, who practiced as a lawyer, also previously worked as Vice President of Mutholy Panchayat in the Kottayam district.
