Fees for government chairs in engineering and architecture courses in private unacked technical educational institutions will increase by 7.5% for the academic year 2025-26.
The decision was adopted at a fixation of fees, chaired by MC Sudhakar, Minister for Higher and Education, with representatives of private professional university management, including the Association of Private Engineering Universities Karnataka (Kupeca) and other technical educational institutions and offices.
Private technical educational institutions required 15% to 20% increase in fees that the government said could be between 7% and 8%. Although the Association’s representatives tried to convince the minister to quote salary increases, expenditure on improving infrastructure, maintenance and quality, Dr. Sudhakar was firm in his decision. After a long discussion, a consensus was finally achieved to increase the fee of 7.5% of last year’s fee.
Dr. Sudhakar said: “Private universities demanded 15% to 20% increase in fees to pay teaching salaries and non -general staff according to the seventh salary commission and developing infrastructure and more.
With a 7.5% increase, without the university registration and another processing fee, the fee for 1.14 199 GBP for CET chairs (government quota) in private colleges type 1.
However, fees in the government and the help of engineering universities will remain the same as the fees for last year.
In the years 2024-25, the fee for government seats in private engineering universities was 1 06 231 GBP. At the Comed-K type-1, it was 1.86 111 GBP and 2.61 477 GBP for universities type 2.
